This Week's Newsletter

3M Math - This week we finished our measurement unit, took a test, and have now begun our multiplication/division unit. We will continue to focus on measurement.


3-O Math - This week we took a test on unit 3 and have begun our unit on decimals. We have continued to learn more about multiplication and division. We have been working on our enrichment packet for when we are done with our work.

Language Arts:
Writing - We have immersed ourselves in different personal narrative books and are now beginning to write ours. We can bring in pictures to help us remember our memory. We played a game called I have Who has using synonyms and compound words.

Reading - We have been reading Turtle Bay inside our reading books. We focused on Author's Purpose and even played a sorting game. We will be writing our first extended response to go along with Turtle Bay.

LMC - Mrs. Ory talked to us about searching a few websites in Naperville. For example the Visit Naperville website, Naperville Public Library website, Chamber of Commerce website. We looked for answers to Mrs. Ory's questions.

Science - We have begun our unit on Matter. We learned that everything is matter because they are either a solid, liquid, or gas. We also reviewed the water cycle. We did our first experiment today. We mixed up water, oil, and syrup. We did not get to complete it today, but can't wait to see what happened.

News from Mrs. McClung:

Don't forget that we will be having parent teacher conferences on Wednesday from 4:30 - 8:00 and Thursday from 8-3 and 4:30 - 8. We will not be in school on Friday, November 10th. Next week we will not be having a spelling test.
